Aims & scope


Globalization and Health is an open access, peer-reviewed, online journal that provides an international forum for high quality original research, knowledge sharing and debate on the topic of globalization and its effects on health, both positive and negative. The journal is is affiliated with the London School of Economics (LSE Health).

Society information

The mission of LSE Health is to advance, transmit and sustain knowledge and understanding through the conduct of research, teaching and scholarship at the highest international standards, for the benefit of the international and national health policy community. LSE Health aims to expand and improve conceptual frameworks, apply new methodologies, encourage debate about issues raised by research developments and introduce new questions or themes that will contribute to policy discussions. Globalization and Health is an important means of encouraging such debate and promoting high quality research. The Centre is committed to interdisciplinary research that benefits policy makers and health professionals.

Call for papers

Climate Change and Global Health

Globalization and Health is currently inviting papers for a new special issue entitled "Climate Change and Global Health: Implications for human health and health systems".

This special issue has arisen to explore the resilience and flexibility of our health systems in the face of possible large scale disasters linked to climate change, and will welcome manuscripts addressing the following issues:

  •  Health policy and financing mechanisms that will encourage public action and adaption strategies for health systems.
  •  Assessments of the ability of public policy and institutions to respond to climate change and human health.
  •  Merging the economics of climate adaptation and traditional health economics.
  •  How to mitigate asymmetrical effects of climate change on the global population.
  •  Interdisciplinary education and research.

Manuscripts may include research papers, reviews, policy analyses, short reports, commentaries, or debates. All manuscripts will undergo full peer-review in line with the journal's standard policy. Please see our instructions for authors for further details.
